Water Damage- Restore vs. Replace in Fairfield County
3/17/2017 (Permalink)
It is our goal at SERVPRO of Danbury/Ridgefield to restore a water damaged property back to preloss condition. Whenever possible our technicians will restore water damaged materials instead of removing and replacing. Despite the incredible technology and training our crews have there are items that despite our best efforts cannot be salvaged after sustaining water damage. These materials include particle board and press-board materials along with some engineered wood products. These materials swell after contact with water which is irreversible and need to be replaced. During our initial inspection of your water damage we will identify items that will not be salvageable, decreasing drying time and reducing claim costs. If you notice that items in your home or business are swollen that might indicate a hidden moisture issue. Contact us at 203-791-0920 for an evaluation and moisture inspection.
