Soda Blasting Fire Damaged Materials

SERVPRO of Danbury/Ridgefield recently purchased a media blasting system, which allows us to utilize different types of media in removal of smoke and fire damage. On this fire damage project we utilized baking soda which was blasted against the structural materials, removing smoke and char damage. The added benefit of baking soda is the deodorization capabilities in smoke odor situations. By utilizing the media blaster SERVPRO of Danbury/Ridgefield was able to effectively and efficiently clean all the heavily smoke damaged framing and foundation. This process saved the insurance carrier tens of thousands of dollars along with reduced the reconstruction timeline.
